Positive mind. Positive vibes. Positive life.

Little motivational post for you all, do not give up!

No matter what happened last weekend, whether you over-ate or did not do your scheduled workouts. Relax, it is gonna be ok! It is called balance and remember we can’t be perfect all day everyday. If this weekend, or last week, or last month, was not the way you hoped for, do not let it take you into a ‘I should just give up and I might as well eat that entire pack of cookies’ mentality. It happens to all of us, me included, and the difficult bit is to keep going and not give up. It is a slow process but it is worth it! Also, keep in mind that the first reason you are doing all this is to have a healthy body and a healthy mind. We are nourishing and fueling our body, not feeding it poison, and remember how good exercise makes you feel!

If you had a bad weekend, drink lots of water, eat your greens and go for a long walk (remember that power walking is one of the best fat burning exercises out there!)

Cookie Dough Protein Balls

Sunday evening means meal prep for me! And I have just prepared a batch of protein balls to take to work for a mid-afternoon snack so I avoid getting home completely starving. These take only five minutes to make and then just place them in the fridge to keep a few days.

This time, I did a variation too, adding spirulina powder.
Spirulina is a natural algae powder that is incredibly high in numerous nutrients such as vitamin B1, B2, B3, iron and also high in protein. It also has powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, can reduce bad cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and the list goes on. In terms of fitness, it can help with muscle strength and endurance.

Nutty Breakfast Oats

Good morning fitfam!

Having oats for breakfast is my favourite!

I always try to mix it up but most days, I just want my oats as it is warm and soothing, I love the texture and I can top it with anything!

I usually love topping it with any nut butter – think cashew, almond, and peanut!!! Yum!

Hope you like it 🙂

The Ultimate Chocolate Brownie Recipe

Hey guys!

This weekend, I don’t have one but TWO brownie recipes to share with you! Can you tell I love chocolate???!!!

Chocolate brownies can be very different depending on how to make them. This recipe is more ‘cakey’ than gooey/ moist, which I am sharing on the previous post. I really like this one because it tastes more like a cake. I experimented by simply taking my favourite brownie recipe and finding alternatives for each ingredient, making it healthy for anyone who is trying to switch to a more natural way of eating and also trying to  lose weight.

Healthy Natural Muesli Recipe

Hey girls!

Hope you’ve had a great week. It’s Sunday night already, which means it is time to set new goals for the week.
Last week for me was really good in terms of nutrition and I finally got back into healthy habits and feeling so much better. It’s unbelievable how eating well leaves you energized, light and happy instead of sluggish and bloated, right?!
Recently, I’ve been reading quite a lot on the effects of sugar on your body and realised I was (am) completely addicted to it! Research has shown that sugar is 4 times more addictive than cocaine.
Refined sugars are such a poison for our bodies as they are not able to process much of it;  up to 60% of it is stored as fat (yes girls, next time you are eating that chocolate bar or muffin, think that most of it will go straight to your belly and hips!!! aie aie aie). If you would like to read more about this, read the Clean & Lean Diet by James Duigan, it is really really good.

15-min Body Blasting Kettlebell Workout

Hey girls!

I know it’s already the end of September and I am saying this a bit late but I will still say it:
September means end of summer, which means new resolutions and back to work! Let’s kick some ass!!!

We are starting slowly with a 15 minute Kettlebell workout – no excuses – again this workout takes 15 minutes, adding to that the 5 minute warm up and 5 minute cool down, it still takes under half an hour.

Kettlebell training is one of the most effective way to torch a huge amount of calories by doing simple moves.
